WFSC 2014 Speed Slalom Senior Women podium by Ksenija Komarchuk

She is the brand-new world number one and the winner of all the big events she took part in during the season (Asian Roller Skating Championships 2014, Shanghai Slalom Open 2014, Namwon Korea Open 2014). Last but not least, she also renewed her World Champion title from last year. Here is an interview with Wang Tzu Chien

INTERVIEW

P.S. Congratulations for your excellent results at the WFSC! How did you feel before the competition start? Was it more difficult to win this year?

Wang Tzu Chien. Thanks for the interview. I was very nervous before the start of the competition because it was the first time I competed in Europe and I discovered that the standard and the speed of the Junior Women's Category had become more competitive and faster. On the whole I really was under pressure.

P.S. Did you train a lot before the Championships? How often and how long do you usually train?

Wang Tzu Chien. I trained a lot before the WFSC. Twice a day, from 5 to 6.30 am and from 8 to 10 pm.

P.S. Are you satisfied with your WFSC performance? And what do you want to improve next time?

Wang Tzu Chien. My qualifying result did not meet my initial goal. I should improve and work on my concentration and my run-up speed. I lost my focus and stood still during one of the rounds in final.

P.S. What does it feel like to be on top of the world?

Wang Tzu Chien. I felt absolutely delighted and thrilled. All my hard work and efforts had finally paid off.

P.S. Who was your strongest opponent and who impressed you the most of all the Championships?

Wang Tzu Chien. I feel that Barbara (Bossi) from Italy is my strongest opponent, she is a very good athlete. The Russian Team are very strong as well.

P.S. What is the general impression you keep of those World Championships? What did you like, or didn't like, and what was the most memorable part to you?

Wang Tzu Chien. It was the first time I wnt to Paris. I think the After Party was too short but the location of the night was splendid and I liked it a lot.

P.S. What are your objectives for the upcoming season?

Wang Tzu Chien. I would like to renew once more the world title next season.

P.S. Who inspires you from other skaters?

Wang Tzu Chien. The champion of the Senior Men's Category (Savio Brivio) inspired me because of his speed increase in the cones, which is just amazing.

P.S. A word to the skaters, and thanks?

Wang Tzu Chien. I would like to thank my father who was not present at the competition in Paris. He always comes with me to all competitions but he was not able to come to Paris this time. I would not have won the Medal without his support. I wanted to send my best wishes to all the skaters who love this sport and may them excel and reach new heights.
